Meet Caleb - owner/Lead coach

Caleb Scorsone brings over 14 years of golf coaching experience to the Western New York Region, that started in Orlando/Jupiter FL & Augusta GA areas, working with Professionals, Collegiate, & Juniors players. His DRIVE & PASSION to work with juniors is contagious. Caleb joined The Golf Academy team under the leadership of Cory Kaufmann in January of 2017. He then launched The Golf Academy Rochester in February of 2017 after two years of market testing. He is the Lead Coach/Owner at The Golf Academy ROC, located in Western New York, certified in Boditrak, Flightscope, Blast Motion Golf, Callaway Golf, and The Golf Academy with Cory Kaufmann. Meet daniel - director of instruction/pga

Daniel Sciarrino joined The Golf Academy of Rochester in July of 2018. He has worked at some of the top clubs in the country, including Colleton River Plantation Club and Old Edwards Club, where he started to study and refine his craft of teaching. He most recently was a Assistant Instructor at the Sea Island Golf Performance Center where his instruction really started to flourish.

Daniel has been involved in junior development programs everywhere has has been and enjoys working with all skill levels. He has had the pleasure of studying under some of the top teachers in the country including Shane LeBaron, Jack Lumpkin, Mike Shannon, Mike and Sandy LaBauve, Kevin Roman, and Todd Anderson. Dan is Class A PGA Professional, Level 1 "Plane Truth" Certified Instructor, and US Kids Certified Instructor.


MEET lauren -director of player development/pga

Lauren Tallman comes to The Golf Academy of Rochester in February of 2018 after spending the 2017 season as a PGA Class A golf instructor at Ravenwood Golf Club and Eagle Vale Golf Course. While at Ravenwood and Eagle Vale, Lauren established the LPGA USGA Girls Golf of Greater Rochester and the U.S. Kids Golf program.

In 2017, Lauren was nominated by her peers in the Western New York PGA for the Junior Golf Leader of the Year. Lauren continues to play competitively by competing in the Western New York PGA Tournaments against her fellow male PGA Professionals. Lauren played very well on some extremely difficult golf courses, most notably shooting a -2 under 70 during the WNY PGA Championship at Arrowhead Golf Club. Lauren also managed an even par 71 at Penfield County Club during the National Car Rental WNY Classic..

Betty Baird Kregor is an LPGA Master Teaching Professional and owner of StraightShot Inc., specializing in the DISC personality system to mentor and advise athletes of all ages and abilities. In 2014, Kregor retired from over 27 years of teaching golf to consult athletes in the mental aspects of sport and serve as a “performance coach” for goals, scheduling, practice programs, college advising and more. Her LPGA education in DISC profiling allows an athlete to maximize their performance with “self awareness” of their strengths and weaknesses. It is also an important tool in finding the right college fit which is a component of Kregor’s expertise. College athletic consulting is a service that benefits 9-12th graders in learning how to market their talents, schedule college visits and value the importance of academics.  Kregor is a nine-time Kentucky Junior PGA Champion, the 1974 Junior World Champion Girl’s 13-14, 1976 Girl’s Western National Runner-Up and Girl’s Western Medalist.  In 1977-79 she was a three time NJGA All-American and Second Team AJGA All-American 1979. Kregor is a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Louisville Metro Athletic Director’s Hall of Fame, and the KCD Bearcat Hall of Fame. Kregor is currently a proud member of the Board of Directors Commonwealth Bank and Trust.
